Purpose:

For addition to beer in cask in order to impart hop aroma.

Description:

Whole hop cones compressed into pellets with a diameter of 34 mm. The weight of the pellet is nominally 14.12 grms (1/2 oz) but other sizes, 7.06 grms (1/4 oz) and 9.45 grms (1/3 oz) pellets, are also available.

Analysis:

Oil content and composition will be dependent on variety. Yield recovery (weight) is >98% based on comparison of process hop weight and whole hop pellet out-turn weight.

Packaging:

Sealed under vacuum or inert gas (carbon dioxide) in laminated food grade polyethylene/metallised polyester pouches contained in cardboard boxes. Standard cartons usually contain 14.12 kg of whole hops, equivalent to a nominal 1000 1/2 oz pellets. Other pack sizes are available on request.

Product Use:

Replacement of loose cone hops for dry hopping beer in cask.

Storage:

Once opened, packs of Whole Hop Pellets should be used as soon as possible.

Safety:

No known health hazard in normal use. Hops are a combustible material.
