**1999 Paved Oval Series Race #6
Aug.21st, the NORRCA Paved Oval Series made it's 6th stop on the 99 tour
at Camarillo's FREEDOM PARK. Freedom Park is the home of the Ventura RoadRunners R/C
Club. The RoadRunners set up a short, flat "Egg Shaped" course approx 220'
in the racing line. This was an exciting event, hopefully NORRCA's series will be
heading back here again in 2000.

**1999 Paved Oval Series Race #5
July 10, Race 5 returned to SHOWTIME R/C in Bakersfield in a combined
race w/ the Road Course Series. The Racing at SHOWTIME is always exciting and the
Summer Heat usually keeps things interesting.

**1999 Paved Oval Series Race #4
June 12, The NORRCA Paved Oval Series made it's way into Perris
R/C for Race 4 of this years series. When we last visited Perris the track was very
tricky, with NO cushion on the bottom of the track. The night before the series race
G.L. and crew moved the bottom line out approx. a foot or so, to allow better racing, w/
less OFF track incidents. This did seem to help with parts breakage as well.
For the MONTH of July, Perris R/C will try it's hand at Saturday Racing, instead of Sunday. This will also allow you REAL Sprint Car fans a chance to race and then go out to the track in Perris to spectate.

Series Race #3
Race #3 of the Paved Oval Series was held Saturday 4/17, this race was a blast with
NORRCA getting back to the roots of R/C racing holding it's first PARKING LOT Oval Race in
several years. The last known Parking Lot series race was believed to have been held
a couple, maybe even three years ago at Victory Raceway. This weekends race hosted
by Raphel and the Golden State Tire Shredders club in Encino Ca. had some first time
"Parking Lot" racers, lots of spectators, and some good racing action.

**1999 Paved Series Race #2 Results
Race #2 of the NORRCA Paved Oval Series headed into Bakersfield last weekend, SHOWTIME R/C SPEEDWAY was the host. We finally got to see what 4 cell racing looks like on a short track, and for most, it appeared that speed was not an issue at all. The racing was very competitive, and close.

I have added what I consider to be an important link to this page. It is a link to the missing Kids Hotline with scrolling missing kids. This is an organization that needs all the help possible...and one that should be recognized.....Thank You
What is R/C Racing?
Racing R/C cars (radio controlled cars), is a hobby/sport that is a lot of fun. The cars mostly referred to in this sight will be 1/10 scale, electric cars and or trucks. And exclusively for pavement/concrete oval racing. Although, there are a wide variety of other forms of R/C Cars that are raced, this is the only type I am involved with.
The racing generally held on a closed, specially designed track. A family atmosphere is maintained at racing events, to allow kids of all ages to come and have a good time.
In the US there a two major clubs that sanction organized racing NORRCA and ROAR. These organizations require you to join their membership in order to take part in their events. For this they provide limited insurance, event organization and other involvements in the event. Visit your local hobby shop for more info on R/C cars, and visit our sponsor links below for their product info.
