FC ZWOLLE - TELSTAR 1-0
Finally after three games in 1998 Zwolle managed to win their first game of the year.
On a wet and slippery field Zwolle showed that they hadn't compeletely forgotten how to play the game.
The midfielders and defenders did their jobs well enough and telstar did not get very much chances only Raoul Henar had two good ones.
Zwolle scored twice in the first half, but both goals were disallowed for off-side, both times however it was the question if it really was off-side.
Jan Bruin also had a good chance, but he was just not able to reach the cross from Bosschaart.
The second half was completely dominated by FC Zwolle, Telstar wasn't able to leave their own half of the field, but allthough Zwolle had a lot of chances it took until the seventieth minute before Zwolle was able to score.
Albert van der Haar shot on goal, but the shot was blocked, a Telstar defender tried to kick it away but delivered it to Roelofsen, who passed the ball on to Sami Ristilä who was able to pass it behind Telstargoalkeeper L'Ami.
Zwolle then was able to play the game out without any problems, they even created some nice chances, but unfortunately weren't able to score

13 SEPTEMBER: TELSTAR - FC ZWOLLE 1-1
Saturday FC Zwolle played an away game against Telstar
in Velsen, about 80 FC Zwolle supporters crossed the whole country to visit
this game, they expected a great game after the good result against Dordrecht,
They were disappointed by FC Zwolle's game play. FC Zwolle was nothing
like the great playing team they were last game, defenders were not able
to get the ball away without problems, only few long passes arrived and
the opportunities FC Zwolle did get were not finished right. A few minutes
before the end of the first half Telstar scored a well deserved goal, so
FC Zwolle had to try to make a better second half, Although the second
half was a little better FC Zwolle still didn't get much chances and Telstar
tried to 'finish' the game, but were not able to do so because of FC Zwolle-
goalkeeper Henk Timmer, He played a good game and surely made some necessary
rescues. After 70 minutes it was finally Jan Bruin that was able to score
the equalizer, already his sixth goal this season, in only five matches.
After this goal FC Zwolle tried to make another one, but Telstar was able
to finish the game in 1-1.
