HOME GAME
17 OKTOBER:FC ZWOLLE - CAMBUUR LEEUWARDEN 1-3
FC Zwolle's first home defeat was an result of FC Zwolle being
unlucky in finishing, they hit the bar 3 times.
FC Zwolle came 0-2 behind after just ten minutes in the first half,
after this early setback FC Zwolle had troubles to get into the game and
cambuur (supported by referee Oskam who was once again in an anti-Zwolle
mood) got some more chances and after 29 minutes it was De Roo who shot
from twenty-five meters on goal, Henk Timmer was unable to do anything
to stop it, 3-0. After this goal Zwolle started to get more chances but
only hit the bar until in the 40th minute Jan Bruin scored his eleventh
goal this season.
A few minutes later Zwolle got an other good chance but Oskam decided
to give Zwolle a free kick instead of letting them play on. In the second
half there were some good chances for both teams, but both teams were unable
to make enough pressure to score, best chances were for Rasmussen who headed
a ball that came back of the bar just a few centimeters wide, and Van Utrecht
who came alone in front of Henk Timmer but was forced to far to the outside
so the ball could be deflected by a incoming defender.
The result of this loss is that FC Zwolle goes down to the 7th
place
AWAY GAME
CAMBUUR - FC ZWOLLE 2-1
A midweek game, so unfortunaly I wasn't able to go there.
From what I've heared and read about it, it was one of the better games of the season, but Zwolle seemed not to be able to score.
Zwolle had some good chances in the first half, but it was Cambuur that scored the first goal, just seconds before halftime. It was a lucky one, Sinkgraven tried to clear a corner but hit the ball against the leg of Cambuur player Geert Jelle de Vries, and it carambowled behind Werner Kooistra.
After the break FC Zwolle was even better than first half,and after little time Ven den Belt made the equalizer, he went by a defender and shot the ball in the far corner. Minutes later he had another chance, but this time he hit the keeper.
The second Cambuur-goal again came from a corner, this time Van der Haar did not react fast enough, and Harry van der Laan was able to kick in the ball. An undeserved loss, let's just hope that next game zwolle have more luck in scoring and that the players will show the same spirit they showed this game.
