This Association was established in 1926 as the Billericay Residents' Association, and merged in 1962 with the Buttsbury Residents' Association to create its present form. During the 1970's the Association held all nine Billericay seats on Basildon District Council. The Association has 6,700 Billericay households in membership, and has a committee structure based on the three electoral wards, with an executive committee. The principal objectives of the Association are: "The Association shall be non-party political and non-sectarian. To maintain and improve the amenities of the District, guard the interest of all members, promote the election of suitable persons to various local bodies and to act in conjunction with other organisations in matters of common interest."
