The Garrison Camp Site is open from Easter to 31st October, and is situated at the top of the Garrison with magnificent views and reasonable shelter. The site is located just seven minutes walk from town, quay and nearest beaches. It is a family run site and even when full it offers plenty of space for all the tents (not like some Continental sites we have visited).
There are a number of enclosed garden camp sites which give added protection and privacy. These sites are not bookable and reservations can only be made on arrival. Mains water is provided at water points situated throughout the site. In the washrooms there is hot and cold water on tap. There are 50p slot meters for hot showers. Hair dryers are available in the ladies washroom via a 20p meter. There are shaver points. There are flush toilets.
The lavatories and washrooms are illuminated until midnight; for visits after this time you will require a torch. A comprehensive camp store open at certain advertised times is close to the site. In addition to providing groceries and other camping necessities, we are now licensed to supply beers wines & cider. There is boiling water for flasks, and a public telephone. There is a commercial drying machine, iron and ironing board.
We regret that pets are not permitted.
Transport of all of your equipment together with the towing of trailers to and from the site will be available on the quay and is charged extra. Please do not forget to unlock your towing hitch before leaving your trailer for towing. All enquiries regarding transport should be addressed to Ted Moulson on 01720- 422670. Bookings may commence from any day of the week except Sundays. Equipment may be sent in advance, providing you give us adequate notice.
Calor Gas, Camping gaz and Epigaz supplied. We also keep a small range of camping gas cookers and lamps. We have been challenged to find many types of gas, and not failed yet!

We have begun a new year (our third season). This winter has seen fuerther improvements on the campsite. The older of the two toilet blocks on site "A", has been demolished and re-built. The old block ould be a little "draughty" in a gale, this one is gleaming new. We have also re-commenced the hedge planting program. Last week 400 Pitisporum seedlings arrived. We ordered them nearly two years ago. We hadn't quite forgotten about them, but it was a surprise when they turned up!. It takes time to harvest the seed & germinate it into seedlings. Hopefully, with tree sleeve protection, and rabbits permitting, they will grow into 20' high hedges. This will afford a great deal of shelter to the more exposed side of the site, without spoiling the views.
The site is really starting to look a lot better nowadays. It has responded to the treatment! A bit of TLC goes a long way.
