Hi. You have reached the home page of Ted and Barbara Moulson. The proud owners of Garrison Holidays; Campsite and Holiday Cottages.
We are both actually qualified Pharmacists! but have decided quality of life and our children's welfare is more important than making money in the "rat-race". We moved to the Isles of Scilly in January '97. The Isles of Scilly are a sub-tropical archipelago of islands situated 28 miles south west of Lands End, Cornwall, England. They are truly beautiful; a match for any of the more exotic and well known locations world wide! The local population is totally in keeping with the Islands, warm and extremely friendly. Nothing is too much trouble. The pace of life soothes you as soon as you land on the islands. The pressures of modern life seem to lift immediately, relaxation is virtually automatic! This is only the beginning of our home page. If anyone would like further information about Camping or Self Catering Holiday Cottages, please feel free to ask!

We have been working hard since we arrived in Scilly to learn the ropes. What a fantastic place to learn; palm trees in our back garden and on the campsite, magnificent views of the Islands whilst cutting hedges and tidying up the bracken. The campsite has started to respond to the TLC. It is now looking a lot smarter.
This summer has been a superb season. We have enjoyed it to the full. The campers and holidaymakers in the cottages, relaxed and enjoyed themselves too! We have taken part in so may events during the year it would be impossible to list them all. Here are a few to whet your appetite! World gig racing, Town hall dances, beach barbies, carnivals, sailing, boating, fishing, etc., etc. Oh by the way we managed to work pretty hard as well! We are now working hard to refurbish and decorate the cottages. When the weather improves a little we will repair the damage caused by the gales. The campsite is a little soggy at the moment so until it dries out I keep my fingers crossed that the vegetation will only grow slowly!
If you want a relaxing holiday in idyllic surroundings, with the best sunshine record in the United Kingdom, with extremely friendly locals, just drop us a message. We look forward to hearing from you.
The '99 season (our third) has been just as enjoyable as the previous two. We managed to get out on the water a little more this year, being as we had a better idea of what to expect. The staff we had working for us have made a real difference. Rhi & Hannah, mucked in & Mucked out!!" Well the toilet blocks do have to be kept clean on a very regular basis! Last winter saw the completion of the NEW TOILET BLOCK. When we bought the place we realised that it would need replacing. It is now pretty well complete. The floor has caused a few headaches! We think we have solved that problem now! A "bomb proof anti-slip, easy-clean, rubberised vinyl type covering!
Many campers new & old passed very favourable comments to our progress. Hopefully we are getting things a bit better.
We have been in negotiation with the Steamship Company & may soon be able to offer a booking survive for the Scillonian III ( a small discount may be available!)
The shelter on site is an important feature. 600 Pitasporum plants have been added to the more exposed parts. Thoughtfully planted not to hinder the wonderful views, when fully grown.
Winter 2000 is nearly upon us we are in the planning stage as to "WHAT NEXT." Bits & Bobs this year!
YOU CAN NOW ASK FOR A BROCHURE & 2000 PRICE LIST !Just "E" mail me at; tedmoulson@cs.com and I will send one by return
Barbara has been involved heavily with ladies circle (she was chairman last year (May '98 to April '99). I have been appointed as Hon Sec to the Isles of Scilly Round Table. That was a job that I studiously avoided in the past! However they finally persuaded me to take it on!. I have also started "Rowing". I am part of a pilot gig crew. We are all novices and are enjoying the challenge. We were very consistent at the beginning of the season. (last every race) however we have progressed since and have come last but one on three occasions! There is nothing quite like a good hard row on a beautiful summers evening, then replacing the lost fluids later in the local hostels! Well we did invite two of the local Landlords to be in the crew. A most enjoyable year!
