Alpine Boarding Adventures:
- North Lake Tahoe:
- Mount Rose: The closest mountain to Reno airport at just 25 minutes away. Its a great first stop
for some of the hottest boarding around. It's the highest base at over 8000 ft and gets
some of the deepest powder around. Definitely an up and coming spot.
- Squaw Valley: Always an awesome spot. It sports one of the hottest vert half pipe in the region.
One of my favorites after a big dump...
- North Star: If your staying in Truckee Northstar is a great starting point. Its terrain has a lot
to offer. The backside has some of the funnest tree runs around and they're never crowded. The ol' stand by...always open during and after the dump...
Low elevation and plenty of trees keeps the winds away during the heavy winter storms...
- Sugar Bowl: A lesser known but definitely a hot spot. Well worth the tricky mountain roads. It always
seems to get the most snow and the terrain has everything from extreme to mellow. Near the top
of the legendary Donner pass you can always count on having a great day. Powder trails untouched
when all else is tracked up. Probably my favorite spot!!!! The new lodge is on the way for 98' and the two new turbo 4 seaters' will open vast new
steep powder terrain...
- Alpine Meadows: A traditional favorite for skiiers but now opened to boarding too. The turbo 6 seater lift to "The Summit"
gets you to the top fast and sweet!!!!! Scott chair provides serious steepness and lots of untouched powder drop-in's.....I will return
year after year at least for one day......Thank you for coming to your senses and allowing boarding to this superior mountain!!!!
- South Lake Tahoe:
- Kirkwood: The best mountain for extreme boarding. It boasts the deepest snow pack in the country
most of the time. It can be a hike especially coming from north lake but by far the hottest
spot. Its fun bars and deep powder await those who make the journey. My favorite spot in tahoe!!!!
- Heavenly: Close to town, maybe too close. Always crowded but excellent terrain. Also lots of
hot babes.
- Mammoth Mountain: Definitely one of the hottest and sweetest drops. The top has steep faces with lots of powder. The terrain offers
from extreme to beginner. The only drag is the 6 hr ride from LA or the Bay area. However, always well worth the trip!!!! Remember to visit our friends at
Wave Rave boarding shop where tune ups' are sweet and inexpensive. Thanks guys!!!!And the top shelf at Nevato's can't be beat.
