Completed With The Help Of Our Good Friends, Dan & Arlene
This picture represents the southern boundry of 7 acres of land purchased in June 1997. The Woelfel's have offered to be caretakers until such time as we move up to retire.....then according to Dan, we're on our own!! The land is a stone's throw from the old Glidden Lodge and is located at the corner of Bark Road, and Glidden Drive, Valmy, Wisconsin. The fence was added to give the corner a bit of "charm", you'll have to decide for yourself the next time you drive by.
November 1998, Winter Is On The Way, Why It's Been Months Since There's Been Snow On The Ground...We Want Snow For Christmas!!
While We Were In The "Door" Between Christmas And New Years, We Were Treated To The Following Scenery Changes.......Yes We Were Happy To Have This Great Opportunity....Especially Since With No House Or Driveway On Our Property No Work Was Needed On Our Part!! The New Snow Was The Result Of One Day's Storm.....The Effects On The Lakeshore Was A Sight To Behold....Lot's Of Ice Buildup On The Lake.....Which By The Way Protects The Beach From Erosion....This "Nature Stuff" is Pretty Cool.
Fast Forward To July 1999 And The Pleasure Of A Plane Ride And Flyover of Whitefish Bay. Glidden Bay Condo's Are Shown Near The Beach Left Hand Side Of Photo. Our Six Acres Is Immediately Across The Road....No House Yet, Only Trees and Mosquitos So Far
Closer View Of Our Property. Our Property Is A Wedge Shaped Section Of Land Bordered By The Road You Can See And A Road That Parallels The Lake
A View Of The Northern Portion Of WhiteFish Bay, Looking Towards Cave Point (Cave Point is one of the most photographed sites along the Lake Michigan waterfront in Door County). Of interest to the local residents is the new path to Lake Michigan the creek has taken in early Spring 2002, caused in part by the lower water level of Lake Michigan, and well...... we're not sure what else contributed to the new route!!
