Lilies - Hand Coloured BW Postcard

The art of hand colouring photographs was a common practice in the early days of photography, until the release of the first colour film by Eastman Kodak in 1939.

The early 80's saw a revival of the technique with the advertising industry leading the way by using selective colouring and vibrant colours to draw attention to the products they were selling.

Todays hand coloured photographs make use of the latest contempory colouring media to create a new and distinctive art form.
