Spring Run Farm

RAISING REGISTERED ANGUS IN BEAUTIFUL NEW HAMPSHIRE

We are Jake and Pat Jacobsmeyer and after a 29 year career in the Air Force we came back to New Hampshire and a 200 year old colonial farm which had been sadly neglected. We have restored the home and the agricultural enterprise. We now keep 25-40 head of Angus cattle.

About Our Herd

Over the past 19 years we have developed our herd with maternal bloodlines such as Rally Missie and Rally Edetta, Harmony Hill Katinka, Oneills Lady Eraline, Hedgerows Jestress and UNH Pridemere. We have used sires such as Sir Wms Le Baron, a son of Skarship Primemover, Bradys Booker, Grubbs Mac Kenzie, Traveler, Pine Drive and Hi Flyer. In 2001 we are using Vision and Phred plus our EXT son herd bull. While we keep the normal herd performance records, we also pay a great deal of attention to structural soundness, udder soundness and productive longevity. Pedigrees, progeny records and photos are kept in computer format which can be provided as e-mail attachments. Here we will periodically feature a special member of the herd.

Marketing

We have offered our finest breeding stock through consignments to the New England Angus Association , New York State Angus Association, and Maine Beef Expo annual sales plus by private treaty. We finish some of our steers for the local freezer trade selling halves and quarters cut, wrapped and flash frozen to order direct to the consumer. We market some feeders to New England feeding operations.
