EDITORS

For those of you who have been wanting to edit your units or saved games, Erik Tan has created a Panzer General II Editor for the game. You can edit many features of saved games and unit statistics, even create your own new units. This editor was optimized for use on the United States release of PG2. If you did not buy or order your PG2 from the States there are no guarantees it will work. Before making any changes, make sure to backup the equip97.eqp file or the scenario save file you intend to edit

This is a small editor for Panzer General II that helps with the creation of scenarios. Seeing as the above unit/scenario editor doesn't allow you to distinguish between the number of turns required for the different types of victories, Alex wrote an editor to allow this. It's been tested and it does work. All you have to do is put in the directory with your custom scenarios (it doesn't search for any predetermined directory) and run it. The rest is self-explanatory.

CAMPAIGN FLOW CHART

For those of you wanting to know what types of victories lead to what scenarios in the German Blitzkrieg & Defending the Reich campaign in PG2, Christopher Lipski has gone to the trouble to chart out these excellent little graphic files depicting the entire scenario structure.

SCENARIOS

Due to the very unpredictable nature of Panzer General II scenario creation (in other words, PG2 custom scenarios often don't work on everyone else's system), the Armory PG2 scenario section is closing. All is not without benefit however... closing the PG2 scenario section allows the Armory more server space for Pacific General scenarios and soon-to-be-released new campaigns. For all you aspiring scenario creators out there, I can't put a more hardy recomendation than to try creating new scenarios and campaigns with SSI's Pacific General. The Pacific General scenario editor is VASTLY better than the PG2 scenario editor, and you can create new maps for Pacific General from scratch (you don't have to rely on the existing maps) and Pacific General includes all units from all theatres of war, including Europe! Just be sure to visit the Pacific General Armory for all your Pacific General needs. If you are still interested in PG2 scenarios, I suggest following the below link.

SCENARIO NOTES & TIPS

To get a custom scenario loaded into PG2 and ready to play, unzip the files listed above into your Panzer General II USERSCEN directory, then simply start a scenario as normal... custom scenarios will appear as blue entries in your scenario directory. If you are unfamiliar with how to unzip scenarios, please visit the Installation Tips page.

NOTE: ALL scenarios posted on this page are compatible with the PG2 Armory's improved equipment file and most are also compatible with PG2's original equipment files. Those scenarios that REQUIRE the PG2 Armory's equipment file are clearly marked. Please remember that scenarios using PG2 equipment files downloaded from other web sites are not compatible with the Armory or the original PG2 equipment files. Scenarios created using equipment files from other web sites cannot be posted on the Armory. The Armory only carries scenarios for use with the original or Armory equipment files.

TIPS

Here's a tip to add naval units or strongholds & fortifications to your scenarios! The way to do it is to select any of the built-in scenarios with naval units, then copy the scenario files to the userscen directory. After that you just load it up in the scenario builder and you can select, place or remove the warships just like any other units and load a new map to create a scenario. I'm sure the same thing can be done with like strong points and fortifications.

In the built-in Scenario Builder for PG2, scenarios provided by SSI with PG2 can be loaded into the Scenario Builder by copying the appropriate files from the scenario directory into the "userscen" directory. Units can then be moved, more added or deleted, prestige changed, etc... Then copy the amended files back to the scenario directory. The modified scenarios work either as stand-alones or within the campaign framework. This is a good way to design your own custom campaign games! This rumor is unconfirmed though!

Bug report: The Paratrooper bug of earlier versions has been fixed, but version 1.02 has replaced it with a new bug! Paratroopers can take any objective city EXCEPT THE LAST. Taking the last objective city will achieve victory, but it will TERMINATE THE CAMPAIGN currently in progress! You have been warned! This is an internal failure of the game... it is not something we here at the Armory can fix... SSI will have to fix it themselves!

VIEWERS

Many files on the Armory often contain either Microsoft Word or Microsoft Excel format files that are not viewable to those who don't own any version of Microsoft Office. For those still wishing to view these files, you can download the FREE viewers for both Word and Excel right here. These are freeware files and not only view said files on the screen, but can also print them out... they are good for Word and Excel '97 through 2000, so download them now if you need to!
