Interviews

With the release of Nevada, I've been unusually in demand for interviews recently. If you're curious to know what and how a comic book writer thinks, follow the links below:

On April 10th, I sat down with Eliot Stein for a 90-minute interview on his CompuServe Internet Radio program, Stein Online. You can listen to it any time with your browser and the RealAudio plug-in. (You'll find a lot of other interesting interviews in Eliot's archives, by the way. Take a few moments to peruse the list.)

One of the most interesting and wide-ranging interviews I've done lately was conducted by Steve Cadigan for Mania's Power Questions. We talked about Nevada and Void Indigo, the process of creating characters, my work for Image Comics, and quite a bit more. While you're there, take a look at the rest of the MANIA.COM site.

Kuljit Mithra runs a website devoted to Marvel's Daredevil comic book, which I wrote for a year or so in the early 70s. This interview talks about DD, of course, but the discussion also touches on such matters as how I "broke in" to the comics business; the creation of Howard the Duck; the status of Sludge, a series I wrote for Malibu Comics' Ultraverse line; my work with artist Gene Colan; and — no big surprise — Nevada.

Back Issue is a comics-oriented cable access program out of Indiana. This interview was done for the show's website. It covers changes in the comics industry over the years, where comics as a medium may be headed, my work on Defenders (another Marvel Comics series from the 70s), and — you guessed it — Nevada.

If you haven't had enough of me yet, you can find still more of my mouthings and meanderings on the Worlds of Westfield site.
