Dr. Motes is the author of School-Mom, one the most popular shareware educational programs ever written. Dr. Motes spent 15 years on active duty in the US Air Force where he worked on several interesting projects including SDI and taught Astronautical Engineering at the Air Force Academy. He is a licensed professional engineer in Arkansas, Colorado and New Mexico, has authored one book on electronics, and has written many scientific journal articles on the subject of nonlinear optics. He is now a senior design engineer at SVS, Inc. in Albuquerque, NM. He occasionally serves as an expert witness in court cases. Dr. Motes has given up on making a full-time living writing children's educational software and recently sold the rights to School-Mom.
