SCATTER THE MUD !

A Medley of Travel Writing and Celtic Music

Welcome to Nancy Lyon's CYBER LAUNCH PAD

GREETINGS! fellow travellers, musicians, Society of American Travel Writers colleagues and cherished editors and publishers... Welcome to my Cyber Launch Pad, a visit to which I hope will inspire and entertain you. Inspire you to read my book Scatter the Mud: A Traveller's Medley, engage my services as a travel writer, photographer or lecturer -- or wandering Irish musician with Celtic harp, tin whistle, and accordion! And entertain you with book and travel article excerpts and samples of music from the fiesty harp duo, The Harpomaniacs.

Although it's not obvious, writing to you from a UFO spinning through cyberspace, I'm a transplanted American with dual US-Canadian citizenship, living in Québec and based in Montréal most of the year. I consider Montréal the most vibrant and fascinating city in North America. Here I can live and express myself in two personas, English and French, and be nourished by Québec's rich traditional musical and cultural heritage, its breathtaking landscapes, and Montréal's multi-culturalism and amazing density of talent in all the arts.

I hope you enjoy my site. Any comments and suggestions will be fun to receive. I want to express my gratitude to Michel Gougeon, who, between chasing runaway geese and feeding the chickens and baby rabbits at the Solstice homestead in St. Chrysostome, Québec, designed this web site. He brings all his talents as a musician, graphic artist, cinema technician and multi-media professional-- as well as a Zen patience to bear. Merci , Michel!

Read reviews and excerpts of Nancy's book of travel essays Scatter the Mud: A Traveller's Medley, including a sensational Broad Ripple High School yearbook autograph from David Letterman!

See photos and excerpts of her published travel articles from Australia to Tennesse.

Hear sound clips of her music on the penny whistle, button accordion, and Irish medieval wire-strung harp which she built herself and has played from San Francisco to Switzerland. And get a musical hit of the duelling harps duo, The Harpomaniacs!

Just knock (click) on the hatch door of this flying saucer dwelling Nancy photographed in Gulf Breeze, Florida - and...
