The directory is a collection of links to internet sites relating to the history, music and literature of the American South, from Huey Long to Flannery O'Connor to Elvis.

Links are organized in broad categories -- archives and historical societies, genealogy, genres of music, and so on -- and are also cross-listed by state. So for example, if you're looking for a webpage about Robert Johnson, you'd check under "Blues" and "Mississippi." Be sure and visit the state listings, as in many cases that's where the greatest number of pages are linked.
