Java and Jeddah who are litter brother and sister, recorded a double-win in July 1997 that has not been achieved for nearly 30 years. This double-win resulted from Java winning the Bitch CC and Jeddah winning the Dog CC under Judge Mr J H Murray, at Leeds Championship Show.
Whilst other exhibitors have enjoyed double-wins, this has involved Afghans from different litters and/or not bred/owned by the exhibitor. The record equalling aspect of Java and Jeddah is the fact they were bred, owned and exhibited by their breeders to gain this double-win. The last time we can trace a double-win such as this is way back in 1968 when Clare Race (Rifka) had a similar double-win with the "Heavenly Twins" Rifka's Musqat D'ar and Rifka's Tabaq D'ar. Prior to that we have to go back to the 1950's when Shelia Devitt of Carloway achieved the double-win.
So this is a rare achievement indeed - congratulations to Brian and Zita Fogarty from Dublin in Ireland who are the breeders/owners/exhibitors of Java and Jeddah.
