The North Wales Association of Male Voice Choirs was formed as a branch of The National Association in 1961 and has organised many "1,000 Voice Concerts" held at The Royal Albert Hall, London.
For the first time, The North Wales Association is organising a "500 Voices Concert", the maximum allowed on stage, to be held at The Royal Pavilion, Llangollen on July 24th 1999. It has been arranged because of the interest shown by the public, mainly from tourists who visit Wales, "The Land of Song", from home and abroad.
The Cymau Male Voice Choir are proud to be one of the 17 choirs attending, what promises to be, an exceptional night of music.
Other choirs featured are:
Betws-yn-Rhos, Bro Aled, Bro Glyndwr, Clawdd Offa, Colwyn, Caergybi, Denbigh, Dyffryn Ceiriog, Dyffryn Nantlle, Flint, Llangollen, Maelgwn, Moelwyn, Newtown, Orthopaedic and Powys.
The conductor for the evening is the renowned musician John Glyn Williams, with the accompanist John Tudor Davies and Carys Hughes at the organ. The soloist is Trebor Edwards, a well-known artist to Wales from his numerous television shows and appeaances.
