Clear Lacquers
9600 Series Production Grade Lacquers are high quality wood lacquers that have been the star performers at Randolph for more than a half century. These pale amber coatings provide excellent build, good mar resistance and high cold check. They can be used under a wide range of conditions on many woods and veneers. The 9600 series represents a fine all around grade production lacquer and remains economically priced.
4250 Series Water White Lacquers are exceptional time proven, high quality, clear lacquers. They have superior durability and performance under all conditions with unexcelled clarity and ease of application. This series is for use with or without a sealer.
B5313 Series & W3232B Series Catalyzed Lacquers - Randolph’s most popular catalyzed lacquers. They are formulated for exceptional durability and chip resistance. This is a two component kit consisting of 1 gallon of lacquer and 4 ounces of catalyst.
LZC5000 Series Precatalyzed Lacquers are polyurethane wood lacquers unmatched in the industry. This finish combines the durability of a catalyzed coating with ease of application. Due to their hardness and endurance this series is recommended for use on table tops, furniture, cabinets and wood surfaces which require outstanding protection. These lacquers perform extremely well since they are resistant to most household cleaners, greases, oils, acids, hot water, nail polish remover, alcohol, chemicals and foods.
9650 Series Hot Spray Lacquers are high quality hot spray, furniture grade lacquers. Pale in color and high in solids content, these lacquers will give good hold out and high build, thus requiring fewer coats. These lacquers have good cold check resistance. Blushing has been almost entirely eliminated. These lacquers are recommended for furniture, cabinets, and general industrial use.
2000 Series Clear Wood Lacquer is a piano grade lacquer which is exceptionally tough, mar resistant and print free. It gives a finish with mirror like clarity that polishes with ease. It is good for 20 years of rugged service.
Low VOC Lacquers - Volatile Organic Compounds are the solvents in lacquer that evaporate as it dries. To comply with air pollution standards, Randolph Products Company has a complete line of high solids, low VOC lacquers. They are spray viscosity as sold, so they should not be thinned.
Colored Lacquers
PA Series are industrial grade nitrocellulose lacquers for interior use on wood, steel and composition materials. They are stocked in three gloss ranges and a wide variety of colors. Consult the Randolph Products Industrial Color Card for standard colors or send us your own color standard which can be custom matched by our expert staff.
RA Series Randolac are exceptional quality automotive grade, chip resistant, high performance lacquers, enriched with an alkyd resin for use over primer. They are formulated for either indoor or outdoor use. We can custom match to your color standard or provide from a variety of colors which have already been produced.
RA 1010 White Gloss Randolac is highly recommended for use on kitchen cabinets.
Stains
NGR (Non-grain raising) stains have been formulated not to raise the grain of the wood. They are usually applied by spraying. These stains have good clarity and light fastness and are generally non-bleeding. They are not as light fast as the pigmented types. Some shades will react with acids (which are in some of the catalyzed lacquers) and with certain types of wood such as Oak. NGR stains are for use on fine furniture, musical instruments, and specialty items.
Pigmented Wiping Stains (1500 Series) are recommended for general usage where you desire good grain contrast. They can be either sprayed or wiped on with the excess wiped off. The colors come from semitransparent pigments and since pigments are more light fast than dyes, these are the choice for fade resistance. These stains may be spray or wipe applied. If sprayed, the entire piece must be wiped to remove excess and bring out the proper clarity and contrast. Our 1931 Dark Walnut is almost black in color and may be used on any light wood with good results. It has excellent clarity and grain contrast. One of its features is that it gives particularly dark appearance in the grain and the soft areas of the wood.
Sealers
Sealers are used over the stain and filler to seal the pores of the wood and to provide a transparent foundation for the lacquer coats. They have a milky appearance in the container, dry quickly and sand nicely soon afterward.
S-9611 Sanding Sealer is a "clear" value. This sealer is for use under industrial wood lacquers. It provides maximum cold check.
S-9612 Production Grade Sealer is a clear high solids and high build with excellent sanding properties. It is ready to spray as packaged.
S-9613 Penetrating Vinyl Sealer is a clear non-sanding very durable sealer. It is recommended for use with both precatalyzed and industrial wood lacquers.
Primers
S-1950 White Surfacer is a high coverage commercial primer for use on wood prior to topcoating with our Randolac or PA line industrial lacquers. This is a balanced formula which can be used on furniture. The primer is pure white, good filling, fast drying, resistant to cracking, easy sanding and as non-settling as a high solids surfacer can be. Our 2010 Satin White is recommended for cabinet work and displays.
#39 Synthetic Primer has been formulated for use as an enamel primer surfacer. It is available in both white and gray.
