Magda played Schumann's A Minor concerto for piano and orchestra all over the world; it was one of her favorites. Once she played it under conductor Wilhelm Fürtwängler. During rehearsals, he told her that in France they used to play it faster than what was the German tradition. Magda told him that she could play it slower, if he wanted her to do so. The conductor replied: - Non, Madame; je suis là pour vous suivre! (No, Madam, I am here to follow you).
