Who is Jim Bean II?
In
the summer of 1996 I saw him standing at some lights at the exit from a highway
in Ann Arbor, he carried a cardboard notice which said "Jim Bean II - Free
gospel poems - Vietnam veteran". He hitches around America telling anyone
who will stop and listen his story. Later I went out of my hotel to meet him,
he was still there. We spent four evenings together and then he had to go on
his way, I was disappointed. If you see him get his tape and buy him dinner and
you will be enthralled by his true stories (he won't harm you). If anyone else
out there has met Jim please let me know, I would love to hear from you, he has

The Story of the flags by Jim Bean II
A poet from Boston Massachusetts
Jesus Christ and the Prophets said the generation that saw Israel again become a nation would not pass away before all prophecies are fulfilled. Israel raised her flag again in 1948 after 2,500 years in bondage...
In 6000 years of recorded history, history has recorded under 300 years of peace. I start my poem with 'The War to End All Wars', supposedly World War One.
- Flags were raised
- Just half the way.
- The bands played soldiers songs
- To show our pride,
- For all who died
- To keep their country strong...
- Then 25 years of history would pass
- And the children who grew-up during
- World War One went off to fight in
- World War Two, all over the earth,
- And again....
- Flags were raised
- Just half the way.
- Bombs fell like thunder storms.
- We passed the graves
- Saw children pray
- That daddy wasn't one.
5 years of history passes and a conflict called Korea occurs
But again...
- Flags were raised
- Just half the way.
- This time new jets were sent.
- To kill the Reds,
- And show the rest
- That they were somehow safe
10 years of history passes and another conflict occurs, only
This one would last 3 times longer than the War to End All War,
It would last 3 times longer than World War II and 5 times longer
than Korea...
- And some would claim
- We passed the flag,
- And closed the door
- When Vietnam grew strong
- The ones who fought
- and made it back,
- Had lost their only home.
19 years of history passes and Desert Storm
comes along...
Saddam Hussein sent and army of pain
To a peaceful place called Kuwait.
- Minds of fear... Many tears...
- Cross the seas to set them free.
- Battleships fully dressed
- Yellow ribbons, some regrets,
- Letters stained from far away.
- Dessert storm, have you gone away?
Conclusion: Keeping in mind the 6000 years of recorded history,
the less than 300 years of recorded peace, and realizing how technology
has grown over the last 45 years, I go to what the next war may be,
but it starts with a question.
- Flags were raised
- Just half the way?
- The biggest bombs now sit in place.
- Who knows the day
- When they will say,
- Was there a flag that won?
The war to end all wars:
This poem is dedicated to the generation that saw the rebirth of Israel as a nation again, this poem may seem like its a poem about war because I start my poem with the war to end all wars, world war one and go to desert storm... But what I'm really trying to say is look at the technology of world war one and compare it to the technology of desert storm.... From 1914 to 1991 is only 77 years, The airplane of world war one was big technology... man went into the sky and used it for war, when we look at the history of the world we see we've been signing peace treaties for millenniums, generation after generation keeps looking for peace, we keep telling our-selves 'a better world for our children', our leaders keep promising peace... Jesus says in Matthew chapter 24 verse 6 that there would be wars and rumors of war until he returned, he said this 2000 years ago and wars there have been... And I'm sorry to say the world seems to be tired of hearing about His return... In Matthew chapter 24 verse 34 Jesus is talking about the generation that sees ISRAEL become a nation again, keeping in mind that Israel lost her flag in 605 BC and didn't get it back until 1948 may 14th. The fig tree in Matthew chapter 24 is the nation of Israel, it will not pass away until all these things take place, all these 'things' are prophecies to be fulfilled, again in Matthew 24 verse 37 Jesus says this, 'but as the days of Noah so shall it be with the coming of the son of man,' in the book of Genesis chapter 6 verse 1 it tells us that during Noah's time there was a population explosion, and so just before or around the time of Jesus return there would be another population explosion, now from the days of Noah until the year 1830, about 5,700 years, it took for the earth to reach a population of one billion again from 1830 to 1930, only 100 years and it doubled to 2 billion people and from 1930 to 1965 only 35 years it doubled again to 4 billion, now that's an explosion of population...
The theme of my poem is the Jubilee year... The jubilee year is an old ancient Hebrew Law, The Jubilee year occurred every 50 years in Jewish history, Israel hasn't had a Jubilee year since 605 BC. But because of its rebirth their Jubilee year will happen in 1998, keeping in mind the Jubilee year is a special anniversary... The signs Jesus talked about just before His return are in this generation, I would like to close by saying something that Nostradamus saw in 1634 and I know Nostradamus is not called a holy man by the church of yesterday or the church of today, but the church has a lot of blood on its front-steps and back-steps of the pages of history... Nostradamus in 1634 said he saw multitudes of angels coming in the clouds with one like the son of man leading them, the date he gave was either 1997 or 1999, there just not sure what year he was writing about, but one thing I'm sure of is that Israel's first Jubilee year is coming up in 1998.
It's true no man knows the 'day or hour' of his return, the week - month - year or generation is another story, we are the generation that saw the rebirth of Israel and the bible says that generation will be the last, Jesus is coming soon...
