The Buteyko method for Asthma sufferers

The Buteyko method is a non-drug method which relieves Asthma symptoms and allows lower dependence on drugs. It is based upon the fact that over breathing causes blood vessels in the lung to contract in order to preserve levels of carbon dioxide in the blood, this contraction of the blood vessels brings on the onset of Asthma symptoms. The cure then is to breath less and therefore raise carbon dioxide levels in the blood. The first step is to breath through the nose, especially at night. The method does work but clinical trials are few because many are funded by drug companies who are likely to lose business. Below are some links both good and bad.
