On Monday, January 6, 1996, the *New York Law Journal* reviewed the PRELAW COMPANION in its "Lawyer's Bookshelf" feature (p.2). Here are some excerpts from the review by New York lawyer Daphna Mitchell:

Prelaw Companion

I think Coleman is absolutely on the mark when he tells you: "Be a mensch who might go to law school, not a prelaw."

Complexity does not have to be glum. Coleman often makes his point with humor. . . .

Finally, the book addresses the delicate subjects of which law school to choose and how to persuade it to choose you. Again, I like Coleman's approach: "The thrust of this book is not to deter you but to challenge you."

I do wish that I had had the opportunity to read this before I went to law school!
