Dear Prospective Law Student:

This book is different. If you want to know how to choose a law school, how to maximize your chances of getting into the best one for you, and how to figure out financial aid, the Pre-Law Companion will tell you--but so will a million other books, including the "official" publications of the Law School Admissions Council. This book is something else.

The Pre-Law Companion was written to help you come to the right decision about a critical life choice: Whether or not to go to law school, i.e. whether or not to become a lawyer. I wrote it because I went to law school for many of the wrong reasons (and, thankfully, some of the right ones). I didn't have good advice, but now you can.

Take a look at the Pre-Law Companion. I sincerely believe in it. As the cover copy says (yes, I wrote that too), it's the book law grads wish they'd read before they started. That includes me.

I was flattered when the prelaw advisor at one of the country's most prestigious universities told me that my book "filled a niche that everyone else is ignoring." That niche is giving thoughtful advice to people embarking on some of the most important decisions in their lives.

I hope he's right. All I know is, this really is the book I wish I'd read before I started law school.

Good luck!
