Fan-Made Games

Join up today and kiss the real world goodbye!

Star Wars Combine...it is your destiny The Star Wars Combine - "The Combine is a free massively multiplayer online role-playing simulation game, based on the Star Wars universe, having been developed by amateurs during their spare time. The purpose is to provide a Star Wars universe where fans may dream." Oh boy...
The Jar Wars Trilogy - If you think Jar Jar Binks does not deserve to live, you need these brilliant Shockwave games! Kill Jar Jar at Idleworm!

Rebel Shock Troop Simulator - (241k) Graphically it's very nice but this little Shockwave Flash game will irritate you to hell! You have to shoot stormtroopers - reminiscent of the early level in Rebel Assault II.

Star Wars RPG - (133k) I always wanted to find an easy-to-play-yet-complex text-based Star Wars game for those idle moments. Eventually I found this, which may or may not be that game. At first glance it is rather perplexing. See what you make of it!

Star Wars Betting Game - (188k) This is inane, pointless and totally excellent. You bet credits on which is the fastest ship and then they crawl across your screen. If you win, you get more credits. If you lose, you, er, lose.

Star Wars Arcade Game - (52k) This tiny file is rather a liability. The original dogfight and Death Star arcade game was originally designed in the days when computers ran at 10 kHz so don't expect it to be playable on your fancy P4! It's also been known to crash Windows - experiment with it at your own risk! Best option is to install it on your dad's old 286...

TOTAL CONVERSIONS - There are many Star Wars bolt-ons for popular games, especially the first person perspective frag 'em ups.  Indeed, Lucasarts originally made Dark Forces because so many unofficial versions of Star Wars Doom were being created. Here are the best of them. I keep all the Doom, Doom 2, Quake and Quake 2 conversions on a CD-ROM, along with the best of the classic Star Wars games.

Star Wars Quake II - There's finally a downloadable version! Look for a file called DM1.zip (24.3 meg) plus news about how it's coming along.

Star Wars Quake: Prelim2 - Finally found it. This was never finished and is quite buggy and not supported but is tremendous fun and would have been the best Quake conversion around. The author, Red Knight, abandoned it in order to work on the Quake II version above.

Star Wars Quake 1 (2.34 meg) - A very good conversion. The graphics especially have been very carefully crafted. I sort of wish it was noisier and in a Star Wars setting (I haven't played it much so there may be hidden depths).

Star Wars Quake

StarCraft to Star Wars Conversions - These are difficult to find and the sites come and go, unfortunately. But you should try the following links or else settle for Force Commander and Galactic Battlegrounds! Starcraft Gaming Zone has an X-Wing vs Tie Fighter addon. You should also search at Infoceptor and Mac Customs Lair.

ZDOOMDOOM face

Getting Doom conversions to work can be a confusing business, since there are several versions of Doom I, for example (Doom 1.xx, Ultimate Doom etc) and the conversions don't work with them all. They also tend not to like the Windows front ends, such as Doom 95, GLDoom and ZDoom. However, definitely get ZDoom! It's a great way of making Doom and Doom II's graphics more Quake-like.

Star Wars Doom (3.76 meg) - A big, loud, fun conversion for registered Doom I (doesn't seem to work with Ultimate Doom). You get a great big gun.

Ultimate Star Wars Doom (1.3 meg) - Here's a smaller conversion which will work with Doom I and Ultimate Doom.

Star Wars Doom II (3.5 meg) - This Doom II conversion is good too (not so amusing as the others, though).

DOOM II Freak Zone

Doom II The Freak Zone - (985k) Not a conversion but if you're a Doom II deathmatcher you'll love this 8-level WAD. New maps with secret areas, a few textures and graphics, weapons everywhere plus altered music/sound FX from Star Wars, The Simpsons, The Evil Dead Trilogy, Nine Inch Nails, the A-Team, YMCA??? - it's ragged, insane and you won't come out alive.

Freak Zone 2 - (514k) Version 2 is even better! A totally re-mastered, debugged version with superior music and lovingly enhanced levels (it also compresses much better, as you can see from the file size).
