View of Shenandoah Station and Yard

View of Shenandoah Station

The Shenandoah Depot still saw many passengers in 1956. The station still stands across the road from retail shops in the town of Shenandoah, Virginia. The extenstive yard is a shadow of what it use to be. The model was constructed by Jim Brewer using official N&W station plans. Window and roof corbels are modified Grandt Line casting and the station has interior walls and lighting.

View of Shenandoah Yard

The prototype N&W Shenandoah railway complex once contained two yards and a engine roundhouse facility. Modeled is one - 12 track, double ended, yard with each track about thirty feet long for a total capacity of over 600 freight cars. The roundhouse area is not yet modeled. Shenandoah is a busy place during operating sessions.
