Thank you for following this link. Here is a little bit about me. I hope that you may find links to interest you from among these things which interest me.
I have spent half my life in Suffolk (Ipswich and Felixstowe) and half away from it (in Derbyshire and Berkshire). I have now moved back to my roots and live near Woodbridge. I started to make a modest living as a freelance IT person (see my VITS page); I worked part time for First Act Opera for a month and then for Interact Design and Print for five months. A decrease in hourly pay told me it was time to move on, so I am now back with BT as an IT contractor which is very enjoyable. I have been very lucky. In my spare time I hope to write online training material and web pages.
From April 1995 to September 1999 I worked in the Learning Resources department at the University of Luton. I was responsible for computer network systems Training and Documentation. For 10 years up to March 1995 I worked for the Intervention Board. I had an interesting career going from Administrative Officer to IT Training and Standards Manager. Before that I spent nine years working at Repton School. I am a Member of the Institute of Personnel and Development and I also hold the Institute of Education's Certificate of Online Training and Education.
My interests are quite varied and most can be carried out while listening to BBC Radio. A lot of my spare time is spent walking. Apart from my love of the countryside and wildlife, the walking is to prevent osteoporosis. When not walking I like to zoom around in my little car, although my beloved MR2 retired after we had travelled 100,000 miles together.
For anyone who enjoys the living world, there are some links to excellent nature pages from the BENHS web site which I maintain on behalf of the society. For those of us whose life is enhanced by the music of Queen, my son has an excellent web page with some amazingly useful links, and what is considered by many to be the most informative Queen page on the web. But it didn't have this until it was included in the Greatest Hits III booklet. I have made this collage on his behalf.
I love gleaning information but the WWW is past its best, IMHO. Visit me here again someday to see what has been added. Places I will be browsing, in alphabetical order, include:
