"Your program
just saved the day for me!
I tried to use AWDFLASH.exe to flash my new Shuttle
HOT-603 v2.0(AMD640)
with the new 603WWQ07.bin BIOS and it did! The only
problem was that the
BIN file wasn't complete. Evidently this destroyed
the boot block too. I tried to restore the old BIOS
to that EEPROM on a HOT-565(430TX) with all the other
flash programs I could get my hands on to no avail.
I was able to flash the HOT-603's EEPROM to
565WIQ0E.bin and it worked just fine on the HOT-565
so I knew the chip it's self was still good.
I finally gave up and ordered a replacement chip this
morning. This evening while surfing I saw a reference
to you'r program on http://ping.be and downloaded it.
With the 'Expert' mode I was able to properly flash
the Winbond W29EE011-15 chip on the HOT-565 for the
HOT-603." - Jack Freeman
2/18/98: Version 1.20
is coming along nicely. Integrated the English and
French version, added a Dutch translation, cleaned up
chipset detection. Currently in the process of adding
some more flash chips and doing some general cleanup
stuff. Version 1.20 should be ready within just a
couple more days from now, although I'm not gonna
make any promises (busy, busy, busy ...)
3/31/98: Ouch ! That
took a long while but I said I wasn't making any
promises ... I don't like excuses, but we suddenly
came across our fair share of complications ... That,
in combination with the very little time I have to
work on this and the determination to not release
anything before all the known bugs and quirks have
been dealt with caused the release of v1.20 to be
delayed by this much (and more). I decided to not
call this version 1.20 cause it does not (yet) have
all the features I promised for version 1.20, version
1.20 will probably be delayed a little while longer
considering my busy schedule at the moment. Anyway,
version 1.17 contains some important bugfixes (mainly
with AMD and Macronix chips) and some cool new
features like multi-language support (no German yet,
sorry, that will have to wait till v1.20) and the
option to override UNIFLASH's detection code to flash
a chip that's not known by UNIFLASH yet (but
compatible with a supported chip)
4/8/98: Fixed a bug in
the new -FORCE option, released version 1.17b. With
many thanks to Matthias David Siebler for not only
reporting the bug but also handing me the solution on
a silver platter.

Version 1.15 is still
available for download here in case you
run into trouble with the newer versions.
If you experience any
problems with UNIFLASH we would very much like to
know about it. You can either mail me (English, Dutch, German) or Galkowski
(English, French) or better yet, if you don't mind
writing in English you could mail us both. If you get
as much e-mail as I do you'd understand that some of
'm might get 'lost', for example because Netscape
marks it as 'read' while I only accidentally clicked
on it. It wouldn't be the first time ... So writing
us both probably ensures you're chances of getting
some sort of response. Please don't send me any angry
mails when I'm not responding quick enough.
In order to provide us
with as much info as possible be sure to include the
info UNIFLASH returns when using the -DEBUG option.
Information on motherboard make, model and revision
and BIOS brand and version are very welcome too. If
you'd happen to have your case open anyway you might
even want to send us the markings on the flash chip
(underneath the BIOS mfg sticker)
