| 1927 | Work begins on planning the grandstands and course. Backers raise £250,000 to build it.

| 1929 | Financier W A Read leaves the company after a boardroom row. The first race is run in May over the Whitsun Bank Holiday.

| 1934 | W A Read rejoins the NP Executive and becomes Vice-Chairman of the racecourse company. Race-timing clock installed.Watering system installed to relieve the hard going in summer.

| 1935 | Stand built on top of the Tote building. Many other improvements to the stands and other facilities. Benjamen Barrier Starting Gates introduced

| 1936 | Track extended.

| 1937 | Record attendances and Tote turnover. The Racecourse company goes into receivership. W A Read leaves, but racing continues.

| 1938 | The BBC televises the Pony Turf Club Derby. George Formby's ride is disqualified while leading in a hurdles race.
|
| 1939 | The racecourse is used as location for filming a George Formby comedy. Racing stops at the outbreak on World War 2 in September.
|
| 1940 | Racing restarts but is soon halted by a government ban on horseracing.
|
| 1940-45 | The racecourse is requisitioned by the British Government. During the war it is used as a camp for Italian prisoners, and then as an army camp.
|
| 1947 | The course is bought for housing by Ealing Borough Council for around £250,000, despite considerable local opposition.
|
| 1949 | The course is finally vacated by the army.
|
| 1951 | The first houses are built on the site.
|
| 1955 | Grandstands demolished.
