Minnesota amateur astronomers Alan and Marlene Touchberry during a visit to my dark sky Lake District site in November 1997. As you can see, the weather was typical for the Lake District and definitely not conducive to astronomy!
Mark and Carolyn Collins Petersen during their July 1998 visit to the same site. Carolyn is the editor of Sky Books and Mark is a composer of planetarium music. Together they run Loch Ness Productions, writing planetarium scripts for planetaria all over the world.
And by the way, where is Loch Ness from here?

Six of us battled bravely through the storms, the bugs and the prickly pears.

L-R, Toni, myself, then Anna, Sam, Alan and Marlene Touchberry.

Mike Clements, a man who has chosen his own path.

Just him, a trailer, a small boat, a didgeridoo and a 41" reflector.
