Grade 2 National Finals, Littledown Leisure Centre, Bournemouth 28th November 2004
Megan Comber, representing Sussex Springers, took part in the Grade 2 National Trampolining Finals at the Littledown Leisure Centre in Bournemouth on Sunday 28th November. The top 300 Grade 2 Trampolinists in the UK descended on Bournemouth for the day and a packed arena saw a feast of top class jumping. The crowd of about 500 were treated to a high class event, with between 30 and 50 jumpers at each of the 6 age groups, both male and female, competing for the right to represent their clubs in the final round. Megan finished the preliminary section in 6th place out of a starting group of 40 in the Under 13 Girls and therefore made it through to the final round. Each competitor in the final round was introduced to the crowd and then performed their routine individually. Megan held her nerve superbly to finish in a fantastic 7th place overall, quite some achievement in her first year at Grade 2. Megan has made the final round in four of her five competitions this year and has been desperately unlucky to finish outside the medals each time, ending up in 4th, 4th again, 5th and 7th. She finishes the season with a National Ranking of 428th. This includes all female Trampolinists competing at Grade 1 and 2. Megan now moves up a grade and an age group and her next competition will be at the start of March 2005 in Taunton..
