A team of 10 from Sussex Springers attended the recent SE Regional Grade 3–5 Trampolining Competition in Gillingham and returned with a respectable haul of 3 2^nd place trophies. A total of 206 competitors from 21 different clubs took part in the third of this year’s competitions and getting 3 of the clubs competitors onto the podium represents something of a triumph.

Stephanie Paul’s 2^nd place in the extremely competitive U15 Girls Grade 5 was probably the outstanding performance, but Matthew Passmore, in only his second competition for the club left with a highly commendable 2^nd in the U11 Boys Grade 5 and Taylor Pierce once again proved that he has the ability to progress, coming 2^nd in the U9 Boys Grade 5.

Aside from the trophy winners, the club also came away with three 4^th place finishes. Megan Comber was 4^th in the U13 Girls Grade 3 and once more reaching the qualifying standard to move up to Grade 2 – an exciting prospect for the club as this involves entry into National Competition. Maddy Heath came 4^th in the U9 Girls Grade 5 and Gavin Burrill was 4^th in the U15 Boys Grade 5.

Seven out of ten top 6 placing has got to be a good day, added to the fact that Jasmine Broadley was lying 2^nd in the Under 13 Girls Grade 5 after the first round, before a slight error on her voluntary cost her dearly and dropped her down the places. Amy Beard once more emphasised that she is nearly ready to step up a grade with a terrific 6^th place in the Under 15 Girls Grade 5.

Amelia Russell had a day she will want to forget, but in a sport as unforgiving as trampolining, this sort of thing is common and she will no doubt bounce back better than ever and Chelsey Pierce showed how much promise she has, returning from a recent crisis of confidence to finish in a good position in the U13 girls Grade 5 section.
