South East Regional Grade 3 - 5 Competition, Gillingham,

9th June 2002

Sussex Springers Trampoline Club returned home with 2 team medals and 2 individual 2nd places, after taking part in the recent Grade 3-5 Competition at Gillingham. There were 220 trampolinists competing, representing 21 clubs and the team of 12 from Springers all acquitted themselves very well. Star of the show this time out was Kathryn Hall, who finished 2nd in a very competitive U18 Girls grade 5 section. Kathryn also achieved the required score to step up to grade 4 - only the second Springer to do so. The U18 girls, Kathryn, Stephanie Combe and Kristina Money, also took 1st place in the team competition, while in the U15 Girls grade 5, Amy Beard, Stephanie Paul and Amelia Russell also took 2nd place in the team event. The other medal winner was Gemma Olliver, who as well as coaching and marshalling, managed to find time to come 2nd in the O18 Ladies grade 4 section.

In the U9 Girls grade 5, Hannah Thomas came 12th while Taylor Pierce was 5th in the boys section. In the U11 Girls, Megan Comber was competing for the first time at grade 4 - the first junior member of the club to do so - and finished 7th.

In the ever-competitive U13 Girls grade 5 section, Jasmine Broadley finished in an impressive 5th place and Jessica Pollit also competed well to finish 8th. As well as taking 2nd place in the team event, Amelia, Amy and Stephanie finished in 9th, 10th and 12th places in the U15 Girls.

The U18 girls, Kathryn, Stephanie and Kristina took home the Gold medals and 2nd, 4th and 9th places - Stephanie has finished 4th twice, 6th and 7th in her last 4 competitions and must be getting ready fed up with not getting a trophy.
