WHO'S WHO AT SUSSEX SPRINGERS
STELLA PAUL - SENIOR CLUB COACH, SPECIAL NEEDS COACH AND COUNTY JUDGE
Stella is the joint founder (With Gemma Olliver) of Springers and is Chairman of the Club Committee. She started Trampolining at school and recently began getting more involved when her daughter Stephanie took a keen interest interest in the sport. Stella also has a son, Christopher and she is a professional Trampoline Coach as well as working part time at a local school as a Bursar. Stella is qualified to Senior Club Coach level and as a Club Judge. She has recently completed a High Performance Coach course and is working on her tutored hours to finalise the qualification.
JACKIE THOMAS - COACH AND NEW MEMBER POINT OF CONTACT
Jackie has two children, David and Hannah. Hannah is a present member and competes with the club. Jackie attends most the training sessions and when she is not coaching she will be happy to answer any of your queries about the club when you are first settling in.
ALAN PIERCE - CLUB COACH AND COMPUTER RECORDER
LAURA PIERCE - CLUB JUDGE, COACH AND SPECIAL NEEDS COACH
Laura qualified at Trampoline Coach level in May 2002 and she and Alan have a son, Taylor and a daughter, Chelsey, who both train at and compete for the club. Alan qualified at Trampoline Coach level in March 2003 and has also found himself doing most of the warm ups and cool downs - although he has recently persuaded Chelsey to do some of the warm-ups. He will also be seen on occasion with the video camera. Alan's "other job" - Head Chef at The Old House Restaurant, Copthorne - means that he has been unanimously elected as "official" Club Caterer. Alan has recently completed a Club Coach course and is patiently - or not so patiently - awaiting the results. Laura recently qualified as a Club Judge and is going to complete a Special Needs module during the first half of 2005. Alan and Laura are also active in raising funds, both with grant aid and sponsorships.
PHIL COMBER - SENIOR CLUB COACH AND WEB-SITE DEVELOPER
CAROL COMBER - CLUB JUDGE AND COMPUTER RECORDER
Phil and Carol have two daughters Megan and Samantha. Megan trains and competes with Springers. Phil is at present developing this web site for the club and he is responsible for the competition reports to be seen from time to time in the Mid Sussex Times. He can also be seen on occasion leading the warm-ups and cool downs at training. Phil qualified as a Trampoline Coach in September 2002 and as a Club Coach in December 2003. He completed a Senior Club Coach course in February 2005, although he has yet to do the practical assessment, how hasn't quite finished yet. Carol is secretary to the Springers Committee and regularly does either Manual or Computer Recording at competitions - occasioanlly both!. She recently qualified as a Club Judge.
KATHRYN HALL - COACH
Kathryn qualified as a Trampoline Coach in August 2004, although her opportunities to coach have been restricted of late. Kathryn competed for the club at Grade 4 until a couple of injuries during 2004 made up her mind to concentrate on coaching instead.
NEIL GARRETT - CLUB COACH
Neil is the most recent addition to the coaching staff. A student at Sussex University, he is qualified at Trampoline Coach level and only a recent injury prevented him completing a Club Coach course. Neil is an enthusiastic member of the club and, injuries allowing, will compete for the club, starting at Grade 4.
STEPHANIE PAUL - CLUB JUDGE
Stella's daughter and one of the clubs Grade 4 competitors, Stephanie recently qualified as a Club Judge.
WENDY ORLANDO - CLUB JUDGE
Wendy's daughter Emma trains and competes for the club and Wendy recently qualified as a Club Judge.
KEITH BROADLEY - COMPUTER RECORDER
Keith helps out with marshalling and spotting. He has three daughters and his interest in trampolining began when his daughter Jasmine, who trains and competes with Springers, took up the sport. Keith freely admits to being "inexperienced" with computers, but has finally mastered the Swescore system..... Keith has recently rekindled an old interest in skiing, which has restricted his attendance and his infectious enthusiasm has been sorely missed.
NICOLAS HALL - AUDITOR FOR SPRINGERS
Nicolas has a daughter, Kathryn who trains and competes with the club in the Under 18 Girls and he quietly gets on with making sure all our books are in order.
LYNDA HEATH
Lynda’s daughter, Maddy, trains and competes with Springers. Lynda works hard for us attempting to secure publicity and sponsors for the club, a very difficult task. This is the lady you need to see if you have any ideas relating to sponsorship for the club. Lynda is often called upon to marshall at competitions, preferring to concentrate on warm-up marshalling.
SHARON BEARD
Sharon's daughter Amy also trains and competes with Springers at Grade 4. Sharon has recently taken over as Treasurer for the club - so she's the one who will be after any money owed! If you have any questions about how much it costs to run the club, ask Sharon.
