TRADITIONAL CHINESE MEDICINE

Traditional Chinese Medicine incorporates a combination of acupuncture, Chinese Herbs and Tui Na massage. Tui Na Massage has a long history, dating back to the reign of Emperor Huang in the Lonshan Culture period, around 2000BC. Tui Na incorporates Osteopathy, Shiatsu, Physiotherapy and Holistic Massage into one treatment. It works along the same principles as acupuncture, encouraging and stimulating the body to heal itself. Chinese Herbs are formulated for the individual and are extensively used to encourage all the systems within the body to work in harmony together. Tai Chi Chuan is an internal Cultural Art and is the Chinese path to mental, physical and spiritual fitness. The art of Tai Chi Chuan originated about 500A.D

The movement within these forms should be done in a slow, harmonised sequence, combining the Diaphragm breathing technique known as Chi Kung.

Tai Ji is beneficial health-wise if practised on a regular basis as it regulates blood circulation and refreshes and simulates the body without causing exhaustion. It also helps to relieve the symptoms of stress, tension, bad circulation, high blood pressure, migraine, stiffness of the joints, back pains, and helps to strengthen the body's immune system. In China Tai Chi is well known for its healing powers and is often prescribed by Doctors in addition to other treatments. It is beneficial to the mind, body and spirit.

Weekend seminars and weekly class lessons are available. There is a fully comprehensive Teacher Training Programme available for dedicated students wishing to become qualified instructors. Private lessons also available.
