Meteosat 1.8M Dish Project

SEPTEMBER 1997

UP AND RUNNING

Below are some images of the construction of my Meteosat dish and mount from start to finish

Unidentified Flying Object lands in Weston garden

Three concrete curbstones 900mm x 250mm x 125mm are sunk into the lawn and base supports are bolted in position. Soil is replaced, lawnseed and peat are added to promote lawn re-growth. Good idea if wife disapproves of hobby!

Close-up showing equatorial mount and pivoting arrangement for accurate alignment. All parts have been coated with good quality self curing rust preventive paint before assembly. All fixings except rawlbolts are of stainless steel. New parts manufactured have been zinc plated before final treatment.

Basic-Mount is complete

Dish, Feed-Horn & Support Arms are added
