Peter and Barbara Barham's Home Page

We are two British penguin lovers. We live in Bristol in the west of England. We have visited penguins in zoos and aquaria in many countries. We have also seen many penguins in the wild. Follow the links below to find out more.

You can find many more of our pictures of penguins on our Penguin Pages!, and lots of information about penguins as well as links to other penguin pages.

There is also a diary of the trip we took to Antarctica.

But we do have other interests as well as penguins.

Peter Barham is a Physicist at Bristol University.

As well as my research interests, I am very involved with the Public Understanding of Science. I give public lectures and demonstrations on the science of food to show people that science can be fun, simple to understand and relevant to their everyday lives.

Barbara Barham is a IT officer with the local council

In my spare time I am a keen woodworker and have my own workshop and lathe in our basement.

But we are most interested in penguins. Our house is full of penguin items, pictures, carvings, stuffed toys, etc. Most of our clothes have penguins on them. Barbara has more than 80 penguin tee shirts and sweatshirts, Peter has over 130 different penguin ties (which for someone who rarely wears a tie must be something of a record).
