For Groups: Two Hour Walking Tours (160 euros for two hours for up to 20 people)

The Islands and the Marais. An ideal tour for those who want one tour to capture the essence of Paris in two hours on foot. We start on Ile de la Cité, to trace the early development of Paris, and then look at the superb sculptures and architecture of Notre Dame Cathedral. The tour includes the poignant memorial to the deported, the romantic Ile St Louis with its tree-lined quaysides, and then we explore the historic Marais district with its beautiful architecture and finish at the oldest square in Paris, the lovely Place des Vosges.

OUR MOST POPULAR WALKS: The Marais, Montmartre, The Latin Quarter, Hemingway's Paris, St Germain-des-Prés, The French Revolution.

MUSEUMS: The Louvre or the Musée d'Orsay. Two hours with the guide costs 160 euros. (For large groups a reservation is required giving timed entry and costing 30 euros)

THE LOUVRE. On this tour of highlights of the fabulous collection of the Louvre Museum you will see how the building evolved from a mighty castle to the main palace of the kings of France and then to become the marvellous museum it is today with its splendid modern glass pyramid as an entrance. Our guide will lead you through this vast and beautiful building to see world famous masterpieces of sculpture, painting, objets d'art, jewellery and some splendidly decorated rooms. The tour includes sculptures: the Venus de Milo, the Winged Victory of Samothrace, the Sphinx; the crown Jewels; paintings: masterpieces of French and Italian painting and of course the Mona Lisa. You will also see many lesser known but beautiful works. The guide can provide you with tickets so that you do not need to line up. (8,50 euros per adult)

THE MUSEE D'ORSAY. Our expert guides will help you enjoy and understand this particularly rich period of French art, with historical background and the human stories of the famous artists. You will see elegant portraits and nudes from the Second Empire, which can be compared to the works of the realists and Impressionists who rejected this style to paint views of modern life. Understand why these beautiful Impressionist works were ridiculed in their day, and how artists such as Van Gogh and Gauguin paved the way for modern art. You will see masterpieces by Renoir, Monet and Manet, but also Rodin's sculptures and the fascinating model of the Opera House. The guide can provide you with tickets so that you do not need to line up. (7,50 euros per adult)

SMALL GROUP TOURS

Introduction to Paris This tour, which uses bus and metro will show you some of the main sights of the city: A tour of Notre Dame cathedral, a look at the Ile de la Cité and its flower market, the imposing City Hall, the new pyramid at the Louvre, the Tuileries gardens, the fateful place de la Concorde where the guillotine stood, the famous Avenue des Champs Elysées, and the Arc de Triomphe. This tour can be adapted to suit your group. This will give you an overview of the city, and show you the different modes of transport so that you feel confident about using the excellent Paris public transport on your own.

A Taste of Paris Our friendly French guide will collect you at your hotel, take you on a walking tour to explore Parisian neighbourhoods which is of interest for its history and architecture, but as well as this you will visit a local market where possible, and an authentic Parisian café or wine bar. The guide will introduce you to life in Paris and explain French customs (in English). The tour will provide an opportunity to meet someone French, and give you an insight into life in Paris today, as well as its history. If you would like to brush up a little French during the tour this would also be possible. The neighbourhoods we suggest are the Latin Quarter, Montmartre or the Marais.

FOOD AND WINE TOURS

Cheese and Wine Learn about cheeses, breads and wines to accompany them in a privately owned Parisian apartment and be welcomed by a knowledgeable local person. Group Price: 210 euros for 2 hours. Expenses are extra and will be calcuated according to the number of people and what you choose to taste. This tour is for small groups only.

Chocolate Tasting Tour Learn about the history of chocolate and visit some superb chocolatiers. This tour can be for a small group or up to 20 people. Price 180 euros for up to 10 people. 210 euros for up to 20 people. Expenses are extra: 10 euros per person.

TOURS FOR FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN

Introduction to Paris We have guides who are experienced with children and will make the tour informative and fun. The guide who will collect you at your hotel and take you on a tour designed to interest the whole family. This tour will show you some of the essential sights of the city: a tour of Notre Dame cathedral where we read some of the stories in the sculpted figures, identify some amusing faces in the gargoyles, and hear the story of poor Quasimodo. We look at the Island "Ile de la Cite" and its pretty flower market, the charming smaller island "Ile St Louis" with a stop for the famous ice creams, the medieval kings' mighty palace, a free view of Paris from the rooftops, Paris's oldest bridge, the Louvre from the outside and the new Pyramid.

This is an excellent introduction to the city, the guide can take you on the metro so that you feel confident about using the excellent Paris public transport on your own.

Duration: 3hrs. Price 210 euros (Transport not included. The guide is your guest for any refreshments)

This tour can be adapted to suit your family. It is possible to go inside the Conciergerie Prison to see the medieval great-hall of the king's palace, the cells of the Revolutionary prisoners, and a blade from the guillotine. This can be an option if weather is not so good. (Entrance costs 5.50 euros for adults)

Other Family Tours:

Combinations which appeal to children and can be visited in a three hour tour: the Invalides and the Sewers; the Invalides and the Rodin Museum; the Louvre and the Opera House, the Louvre and Notre Dame, The Louvre and a walk on the theme of the French Revolution; Musée d'Orsay and the Rodin Museum, Musée d'Orsay and Notre Dame. These tours offer variety and allow you to visit a large museum such as the Louvre in an introductory tour suited to children and combine this with another place of interest. This would make an enjoyable morning or afternoon for your family. The guide can finish by recommending a suitable place for lunch or afternoon tea with the famous Paris ice creams.

DAY IN VERSAILLES Palace, park and historic town.

Take the train to Versailles, see the elegant town, walk in the superb gardens to see some of the beautiful sculptures and to hear the stories they represent. Our guide will collect you from your hotel, accompany you for the whole day and help you make the most of all there is to see there. Tour of the palace with its rich decoration and the story of the French court, its splendours, scandals and the sometimes poignant stories of what life was really like for royalty. Price starts at 350 euros for the guide and may depend on the number of people. (Transport and entrance fees 22 euros per adult, 10 per child) We have child friendly guides for family groups.

GIVERNY Monet's House and Gardens at the Village of Giverny.

The house and splendid gardens which belonged to the Impressionist painter Claude Monet at the village of Giverny. Our guide can accompany you by train to Giverny to make the most of the day, tell you Monet's story, and show you much more than you would see if you went on your own. Walk to the local church and see the Monet family tomb, you could have lunch at the charming Baudy Inn where Monet's friends used to stay and perhaps look in at the museum of American Impressionism to see how many American painters followed in Monet's footsteps.

Price for small family groups 350 euros and 390euros for larger groups. (Transport about 25 euros and entrance fee 6euros not included. Price per person. The guide is your guest for transport and refreshments).

EUROSTAR DAY Overview of Paris in one day (for couples or small family groups)

This is an excellent overview of the city with a mixture of famous sights and typical neighbourhoods. The guide will meet you at the station, then take you to see Notre Dame and Ile de la Cité. Stop for a lunch of your choice in a restaurant in the Latin Quarter, the guide stays with you for lunch and helps you order and explains French customs. In the afternoon, either travel by bus or metro to view the Eiffel Tower and then see the Champs Elysées and the Arc de Triomphe, or visit the charming neighbourhood of Montmartre, famous for its association with artists, before returning to the station. Price depends on the length of time involved.

For arrivals at around 12 noon with departure at around 7pm the price is 350E. Price may vary with the number of people or time requirements. Refreshments and transport not included. We recommend public transport which is both cheap and efficient, and provides an authentic experience. (The guide is your guest for meals and refreshments).

DAY TOURS by Car (for small groups)

Normandy Landing Beaches by Car Hear the incredible and poignant story of the Allied landing on the beaches of Normandy in 1944. See the remains of the artificial harbour at Arromanches, built in a week under enemy fire, the American Cemetery of St Laurent with its thousands of graves, Omaha Beach where US forces landed, and if time allows, the cliff-top bunkers at Point du Hoc.This is a gripping human story. The price is about 800 euros for services of a driver-guide, car, tolls and petrol. The guide is your guest for lunch. This price is for two people. For more than two people the price may vary depending on the size and type of car you hire.

Champagne Region by Car Our guides can drive you to the beautiful Champagne region, through the vineyards and picturesque villages on the banks of the River Marne, to Epernay and Reims, the two towns where the famous champagne houses are situated, and a visit to an exclusive and elegant family owned vineyard. Price 800 euros for guide's fee, the car, tolls and petrol. The guide is your guest for lunch.
