Making a Starter Wort for Shorter Lag Times

It's easy to do! Just follow these steps:

Here's what you'll need:

Two days before brew day:

You won't see the level of fermentation that you would in a full 5-gallon brew, but you should see some signs of fermentation, such as bubbles or foam on the surface, and sedimentaccumulating on the bottom of the jar.

You can pitch this entire starter into your 5-gallon chilled wort when your brew is ready. You should see positive signs of fermentation within 12-24 hours of pitching with this method.

Good Brewing!
