I am especially grateful to former IV./JG 3 pilots Willi Unger , Karl-Heinz von den Steinen  & Günther Ehrlich for supplying original material for these pages.   Thanks also to Les Butler for allowing me to use his Luftwaffe emblems on the artworks.  I would like to thank Werner Farwick for sending a selection of Ritterkreuzträger grave site photos   and for introducing me to Karl Bleckmann. Renowned aviation artist Keith Ferris very kindly allowed us to reproduce images of  his superb prints inspired by the events of August 15 1944 and Harry Gobrecht contributed material from the 303rd BG archive. Thank you also to Brett Green at Hyperscale and to Neil Robinson at Guideline Publications for their support. Tony Holmes & John Weal readily agreed to the use of profiles from their Fw 190 Western Front aces book. Thanks for visiting and keeping this site on the Aviation Top 100. Very detailed narratives composed using numerous interviews with Luftwaffe and U.S. Army Air Force veterans are included. Many interesting and rare photographs of the men and machines..".
