Fuser/Fusing Assembly

Paper Jams
Fusing Problems
Service Errors

The fusing assembly is one of the most common parts to to fail. The fuser's job is to melt or "fuse" toner to the paper. Thus it gets very hot. Over time paper dust builds up in the fuser and harden causing scores and scratches to the fuser roller. The plastic gears in the fuser also degrade more rapidly due to the heat. It is also the cause of some "Service 50" errors.
Fusing scratches and scores shows up as a light vertical streak down the page. If you match the output page to the Fusing Assembly, the vertical streak is at the same location as the scratch on the Fusing Roller.
