Tools Needed

 Symptoms: Your HP LaserJet 4 printer's Fusing Assembly has a scratch or score on the Fusing Roller.

It shows up as a light vertical streak down the page. If you match the page to the Fusing Assembly, the vertical streak is at the same location as the scratch or score on the Fusing Roller.

Alternatively, your printer is displaying a "Service 50" error message. To verify that the Fusing Assembly is the cause of the "Service 50" error, click on remove and check your Fuser. (Note: Turn off your printer for at least 15 minutes when a "Service 50" error occurs. Any power interuption such as a black out or brown out can cause a temporary "Service 50" error.)

Canned Air		 Cause: A scratch on the fusing roller is caused primarily by wear & tear. A Service 50 error is also caused by wear & tear, heat, and voltage fluctuations.
