Letter Carriers Work Harder Deserve Higher Pay!The

BUTTON

Battle

Those little round buttons
on blue shirts abounding

Were to bosses a symbol
so scary, confounding,

That they issued dire threats
to the proud button-wearers,

"Take them off or face warnings,
or worse, letter carriers!"

The carriers protested,
"Our buttons are speaking

"Our thoughts and opinions,
they're not even tweaking

The bosses who push us
so hard we are creaking!

It's a raise and a good one
we rightly are seeking!"

But the bosses persisted,
"Those buttons must go!

We just can't let you say
what you think, oh my no!

Just imagine the state
that the Service might reach,

If we allowed you to exercise
freedom of speech!"
