This highly practical 2.5-day course is for health professionals who need to learn how to do urodynamics themselves.

Typical course schedule (may differ slightly according to local conditions):

Thursday evening (in hotel)
1600-1700 Anatomy, physiology and function of the lower urinary tract
1700-1800 Pressure measurement: technical aspects
1900-2000 Pressure measurement during bladder filling: terminology & interpretation
Friday (in hotel)
0800-0830 Observations during bladder filling: types of incontinence
0830-0930 Pressure and flow measurements during voiding: terminology and interpretation
0945-1045 Practical aspects of making measurements:
          Taping, catheters and transducers for measuring pressures
          Quality control: recognition of artifacts
          Flow rate and volume measurements
1045-1130 The urodynamic examination: basic procedure and variations for pediatric, spinal cord injury & geriatric patients
         1230-1630 Hands-on practicum:                     
Set-up, zeroing, calibration
Measurements on mechanical bladder simulator
Running the software
Saturday (in urodynamics laboratory)
0800-0830 Transport to urodynamics laboratory
0830-0900 Demonstration: set-up and calibration of urodynamic equipment
0900-1000 Observation of patient examination
1000-1030 Measurement of urethral pressure profile, leak point pressures, & EMG
1045-1145 Observation of patient examination
1300-1400 Observation of patient examination
1400-1500 Prostatic obstruction, neuropathy and incontinence from a clinical perspective (host urologist)
-1600          Wrap-up session, evaluation, certificates. Return transport to hotel
