About Conchita Betancourt
Born in Pino del Rio, Cuba, Conchita Betancourt first studied with her grand aunt before moving to the United States, in 1962. She received her Bachelor's and Masters degree from the University of Miami and graduated from the School of Music with honors. There, she studied with Ivan Davis. Other piano studies were with Jorge Bolet and Richard Contigula.
She has won great praise both as a performer and teacher and for the past 18 years has served as chairperson of the National Guild of Piano Teachers, in Miami.
