Horn playing using your right ankle

Hans Pizka has several times discussed the importance of the ankle in playing the horn. Most recently

By lifting the horn......the ankle between the teeth and the leadpipe would come nearer to 90 degrees. It's not comfortable, but watch the result. After the performance, you can really feel THAT YOU HAVE DONE SOMETHING.

Even the sacred Farkas himself overlooked the importance of proper ankle placement in horn playing. I agree with Hans that youshould use the right ankle, rather than the left ankle. If you keep the right ankle between the lead pipe and your teeth, then you can keep the horn on your right knee, even when you play standing. Once you have mastered this technique, you too will be able to play Mozart concerti with all those incredible headbanging horn licks admired by Bill Gates. Not to mention the advantages for members of marching bands.
