Starlight Specials at Crich
Stardate : 26th October 1997
Every year as the clocks go forward to mark the end of British Summertime, and heralding the onslaught of yet another temperate Winter, Crich celebrates the early darkness by running as many cars as it can safely manage through dusk and into the autumn night.
OK. Enough of the romantic build up. Its really just an excuse to drive the cars up and down the track at break-neck speeds in pitch darkness, and for reasons, perhaps, best not disclosed....
Not quite starlight but getting ready for it, Johannesburg 60 at the Red Lion reconstruction at Crich, in heavy traffic.
All in all, it was a good family day with plenty going on to keep the kids amused and enough to ensure a recognisable upwind waft from the more seriously dedicated fans of the electric tramcar.
