Towards the setting sun in the south west (it is Autumn here!) we can see the Schweinesand Islands in the distance. Many small boat owners, when mooring for the night, use these Islands as a shield from the continual wash from the incoming and outgoing deep sea ships. In the mid-ground a pleasure boat heads for the Hamburg landing stages with a party of tourists - probably having visited Stade, a few miles down the river on the southern bank.
