William Lilly's Horoscopes from Christian Astrology

Note:  Lilly's interpretation of this horoscope has been re-written into modern English.

"A lady of her Husband Imprisoned, when he should be delivered?"

The original data: 19th October 1645. 7.20pm. London. Christian Astrology. p. 471.

Modern Data: 29th October 1645. 18.55GMT. London.

Remember that 10 days have been added to convert to the Gregorian calendar. The time difference was necessry in order for the computer to arrive at the same ascendant degree as the original horoscope.  Planetary positions and house cusps will differ slightly as a result.

"This question belongs to the 12th house.  Jupiter ruler of the 7th signifies the ladies' husband, in Cancer retrograde, recently or the day before was in trine to the Sun.   The Moon was applying by sextile to retrograde Saturn, then by trine to Jupiter and in reception with it.  I told the lady that she would neither have to go to his Majesty or anyone else for delivery of her husband, for I was assured that he either was or would be discharged of his imprisonment within three days.  A solar type man, a commander or such, would release him and give him what he needed.  The truth was that he was released and the garrison where he was prisoner was taken the same day before the question was asked, by an honest Parliament Colonel who gave him money and whatever he needed.

Jupiter in exaltation retrograde in a movable sign in trine to the Sun meant a short imprisonment, because the Sun is ruler of the 4th house and in so perfect a trine."
