This question is one of several that I have used as a means of testing
the rules of horary. I began this particular test concerning 3rd house matters about
3 years ago. I needed to get quick results in order to check if the rules such as
collection and translation of light, frustration, prohibition and refranation really
worked or not. When I first began to re-think these rules I had no hard evidence
that they produced results as the older astrologers claimed. Also, it seemed to me
that nobody writing on the subject had really defined or made clear how to recognise one
rule from another.
I approached this test certain within myself that I was sincere in
asking these questions. I was also certain that I was not asking the same question
twice since each day would produce a new set of circumstances and the question was only
valid for the following day. The answer would be known then and a new question
could be asked for the next day. In this way I was not asking exactly the same
question or to put it another way, I was not asking second questions.
Questions of this kind did not enter my head every day, there were times
when days would pass before I thought of one. If at any time I suspected that I had
asked about the same day twice I made a note that this may be a second question. All
of these questions were recorded in an appointments diary kept especially for horary
questions.
Significators
Mercury ruling the Gemini ascendant and the Moon for me as the querent.
The Sun as ruler of Leo on the cusp of the 3rd house of letters and post.
Judgement
There is a late degree on the ascendant, 27.05 Gemini. Experience
has taught me that the considerations before judgment, and this late degree is one of
them, do not in any way interfere with the astrologer's ability to judge the chart or
render the chart unreadable. The late degree does not mean that it is "too late
to say" as some would have us believe.
The first thing to look for is to see if any aspects, especially
applying ones, exist between Mercury and the Sun, or the Moon and the Sun.
Mercury does not aspect the Sun and the Sun does not aspect Mercury.
There are no translations of light involving both planets and because neither planet
applies to a slower planet than themselves, there are no collections of light. The
Sun only separates by square from Saturn and Mercury separates by sextile from Jupiter.
The Sun does not apply by conjunction or aspect to the ascendant degree within the
moiety of its orbs.
The next step is to examine the Moon's aspects. In fact, the Moon
applies by trine to the Sun. Since there are no rules such as frustration or
prohibition to interfere with this trine the answer to the question must be a positive
one.
Prediction
The Moon in applying trine to the ruler of the 3rd house, the Sun, shows
that there will be post on the following day.
Result
I received a set of Tara computer discs.
